There will also be more reading homework where students have to do a lot of the reading independently at home with these last few novels, starting with Love that Dog. This is in part to put some of the reading responsibility on the students, as well as focus on independent comprehension and reading skills all working to make sure our students are more prepared for the rigors of 5th grade. For Monday, May 6th, students must have read pages 6-14 of Love that Dog and have an answer ready for two questions: 1. How are Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening and Tiger Tiger different from The Red Wheelbarrow? D
2. Do you think Jack’s definition of poetry (that it is just short lines) is beginning to change? Why or why not?
If students are having a hard time answering these questions, have them read all three poems in question 1 aloud. They are located at the back of the book.
